Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father, except through me." Jesus is the beginning. He is where our salvation and new life begin. But He is also the end. "It is finished," He said. There's nothing that will be added to Him. Who we are begins and ends with Jesus.

Our approach here at New Hope is to operate in the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus - nothing added, nothing taken away. Just Jesus. The end.

Below are what we call "the essentials" - the non-negotiable truths upon which we build our lives. We are confident that these basic truths are needed for God, the Father, to say, "Well done!" when we stand before Him and He holds us accountable to our time here on earth.

The Essentials

The One True God : We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. ( John 1:18; John 15:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:26; )

The Father : We believe in the all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-present God the Father. (Isaiah 43:10-11; Isaiah 46:9-10; Hebrews 4:13; Matthew 28:19; Matthew 6:6; Luke 3:22; Psalm 33:6; Psalm 135:6; Jeremiah 23:23-24; )

Jesus : We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Matthew 1:21-23; Hebrews 1:1-13; II John 9; Revelation 5:6-14; I Corinthians 15:3-4; I Peter 2:22; Matthew 28:6)

The Holy Spirit : We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is empowered to live a godly life. (Acts 2:33; John 14:16-17; John 15:26)

The Bible : We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. No other writings are equal to or surpass the Bible. It was completed and concluded by the direction of the Holy Spirit and constitutes only the Old and New Testaments. (II Timothy 3:15-17; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Peter 1:19-21)

Salvation : We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, as provided by the blood of Jesus through His death on the cross. (Acts 4:21; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5-7; Hebrews 9:22-28; Romans 10:9-13; Romans 5:9; Romans 3:25; John 14:6)

Resurrection : We believe in the eternal resurrection of both the saved and the lost. We are saved unto the resurrection of life and spend eternity in the presence of God; Or we are lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternally separated from God. (I Corinthians 15:12-20; Hebrews 6:2; Revelation 20:11-15; Matthew 25:41)
